Generally, fibers with a monofilament diameter more than 0.3 mm are considered crude/macro fibers.Synthetic crude fibers have the characteristics of high tensile strength, high modulus and low density.

Synthetic crude/macro fiber, also called structural fiber, is part of the structural component of concrete. It is used to enhance the ductility of concrete, improve impact resistance and fatigue strength, and effectively control secondary cracks. It is an ideal material to replace metal mesh and welded steel fiber.

Commonly used synthetic crude fibers are: plastic steel fiber, polypropylene bundled twisted fiber.

The current application areas of synthetic crude fiber include:

Sprayed concrete: initial support of tunnels, permanent support of underground workshops, slope stability, structural reinforcement, etc.;

Concrete precast components: RPC trench covers, manhole covers and other concrete covers, concrete segments and blocks, concrete piles, etc.;

Concrete slabs: industrial floors, building slabs, highway pavements, airport runways, dock surfaces, channel linings, bridge deck pavement, dam panels, etc.;

Others: underground structure concrete side walls, top and bottom plates, retaining walls, water storage tanks, offshore platforms, bridge piers, etc.
