Crude synthetic fiber: the "invisible guard" of concrete performance upgrade
Crude synthetic fiber for concrete reinforcement is made of high molecular materials such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), nylon, etc., and is added to concrete mixtures in single or mixed forms through scientific proportions. Although this type of fiber looks "thin", it can fundamentally improve the mechanical properties of concrete with its unique physical and chemical properties.
From the perspective of the mechanism of action, crude synthetic fiber is like countless "micro-rebars" in concrete. Since concrete naturally has high compressive strength but low tensile strength, it is very easy to crack when affected by external forces, temperature changes or its own solidification shrinkage. After the crude synthetic fiber is evenly dispersed in the concrete matrix, it can form a strong interfacial bonding force with concrete with its own high toughness at the stage of crack initiation, effectively hindering the expansion of cracks. For example, in concrete with a content of 0.9kg/m³ of polypropylene crude synthetic fiber, its crack resistance can be improved by 40% - 60%.

In the construction of industrial plants, the ground needs to withstand the rolling and friction of heavy machinery for a long time. After adding crude synthetic fibers, the wear resistance of the concrete floor is significantly enhanced. A certain automobile manufacturing plant uses concrete containing polyethylene crude synthetic fibers to pave the workshop floor. After 5 years of use, the wear degree of the floor is reduced by 35% compared with ordinary concrete floors, which effectively reduces the renovation cost.
In the field of road construction, it can improve the fatigue resistance of the road surface and reduce the occurrence of rutting and cracks. In a highway project in California, the service life of the road surface was extended from the original 10 years to 15 years after adding nylon crude synthetic fibers to the concrete pavement, and the maintenance frequency was reduced by 50%.
For the production of prefabricated components, crude synthetic fibers can improve the molding quality of components and the resistance to damage during transportation, so that the qualified rate of components can be increased by more than 20%.
